MP Michael Jon Wood (Mike Wood) was born on 17 March 1976. He attended Old Swinford Hospital and later enrolled for Economics and Law at Aberystwyth University. He previously worked for Conservative MEP South West England, Alexander Macmillan, and became a political advisor in the European Parliament.
He lost elections race in the years 1998 and 1999 in the Quarry Bank and Cradley ward on Dudley Metropolian Borough Council. He eventually won a seat as the MP for Dudley South in 2015, an office he is still occupying to this day. .

Mike Wood won 24,835 votes out of a possible 36,576. This represents a 67.9% share and a 15,565 majority in his constituency. There was a voter turnout of 60.2%.
