Is China a Third World Country?

A third-world country is a nation that is economically, socially, and politically unstable. These types of countries often require assistance from more developed nations. In this case, China can not be categorized as a third-world country. China is among the independent states that can fully support its people without help from other countries. Another way to describe a third-world country is undeveloped. People have been calling third-world countries undeveloped since the cold war. It came into existence to define nations that were non-aligned with either capitalism or communism.

You will find the highest number of third-world countries on the African continent. China’s economy is growing and is poised to place China as the next superpower.

      Technology

China has made substantial technological advancements, making it a preferred exporter locally and internationally. They are one of the leading countries in creating advanced technology, with manufacturers making cars that can use water and solar panels instead of fossil fuels. The country has developed well and is aided by better learning facilities and equipment availability.

      Agriculture

Within Asia, China has produced the most crops. The nation has invested in technology to improve its soil. The country is a famous exporter of coffee, tea, and bananas. They also produce large amounts of rice, pyrethrum, maize, and beans. Some of the extra grain produced is donated to undeveloped African countries through Aid programs. Since China can grow enough food to sustain its population, it cannot be a third-world country. The nation has a large foreign currency reserve due to the exports of its high-quality products. The government can produce even in poor weather conditions by introducing new technological techniques. China has a rich history of agriculture, with origins beginning in 7500 BC. They are also the most prominent manufacturers of high-quality fertilizers in the region. They generate foreign currency by exporting the fertilizer to other countries.

      Industrialization

China has industrialized at an incredibly high rate. By the year 2003, China had the sixth largest exporting economy. In 2003. It has a significantly high gross domestic product (GDP), and the nation owns big companies locally and in other cities. China is known for having influenced industrialization in Europe.

      Birth rate

A country with a high birth rate is often considered undeveloped. Many undeveloped countries have this variable in common. Undeveloped countries in Africa commonly have a soaring birth rate which directly leads to poverty and other calamities. A high-birth rate in a low-income family leaves little room for children to eat well and go to school. China is a country with a significant land mass. The nation can handle the billion people in the population. The economy is growing yearly, allowing China to remain stable despite the population growth. In 1979 the Government of China moved to pass a law against having more than one child. The one-child policy meant citizens who chose to have more than one child would have to pay for the child. The move to control birth rates within the country show why China cannot be considered a third-world country.

      Medical Services

Third-world countries typically do not offer their citizens free and safe medical services. China is considered a developed country because it does have reasonable medical assistance to improve the health and safety of the population. As China further industrialized, it built up enough medical infrastructure to deal with the overpopulation faced in the country’s history. The country has proved to have first-class medical facilities. The country now offers free medical services and free medication for viral diseases. Even undeveloped countries receive medical aid from China.

      Living Standard

China has a good standard of living among the population. The nation has a living standard that is stronger than undeveloped countries. Citizens in the lower class of China would be considered middle class in third-world countries. The high economic growth in China has enhanced this. The expansion means that children can focus on getting an education and improving the cycle. In undeveloped countries, students are sometimes found studying under trees, making it difficult to excel. In undeveloped countries, certain children do not attend school to help their parents work. The cycle is self-defeating; however, it is prohibited and is against the law to avoid this problem.

      Modernization of Infrastructure

The amount of money spent on improving a country’s infrastructure is essential in determining whether it is undeveloped. China has made considerable strides in developing its transport systems, city buildings, and natural sites. They have expensive methods of transport such as electric trains. These types of trains are not commonly found in undeveloped nations. The infrastructure developed helped China launch a successful bid to host the Olympics in 2008.

      The Level of Education Standards

China has some of the best education standards in the world. Their population is highly literate and educated. In third-world countries, poorly funded education systems lead to a low level of education and a brain drain of essential skills. The students often leave the third-world country to seek better education in other countries.

      Military Force

China has spent billions of dollars to ensure its army is one of the biggest and best in the world. The nation is well known for its excellent attacking and defending techniques. The country also has a significant arsenal of nuclear weapons, which makes them a force to be reckoned with. Nuclear weapons are not often found in third-world countries.
