There is no telling what else could have been in store for the people of San Jose, judging from the explosive devices and Molotov cocktails that detectives found inside Cassidy’s home. Sources report that Cassidy had been bragging to colleagues about his guns and bombs. His rampage left 8 people deceased. San Jose mayor, Sam Liccardo, said that the suspect’s home had also been set on fire.
Cassidy has been working for Valley Transportation Authority since at least 2012, according to the public payroll and pension database Transparent California. He was first employed as a mechanic from 2012-2014, but then became someone who maintained substations from 2014 onwards.
According to Nelms who was married to Cassidy for 10 years says he used to come home from work and feel resentful because he was working hard, but getting paid less than his male counterparts. He would be angry, and it would affect his relationships with others.
‘He could dwell on things,’ she said. The two hadn’t been in touch for about 13 years, she said.
