History shows that the term ‘alpha’ has been in use since the 1930s, and David Mech, an American biologist, is accredited for making this term popular [Source]. He referred to an alpha wolf in his book, and this wolf was more dominating than the other wolves. The community carried forward the term, which used the terms ‘alpha’ and ‘beta’, in which the alphas were successful with women while the beta was not.
