Craig Whittaker is a British politician and a Member of Parliament for the Conservative Party in the Calder Valley constituency. He was born on April 2, 1962, in Brighouse, West Yorkshire. He attended Rastrick Grammar School before working in the finance industry for 27 years.
Whittaker entered politics in 2000 when he was elected as a councilor on Calderdale Council, representing Brighouse ward. He served on the council for eight years before being elected as the Member of Parliament for Calder Valley in 2010.
In Parliament, Whittaker has been a member of the Education Select Committee and the Joint Committee on Human Rights. He has also served as the Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Apprenticeships.
