Samuel (Sammy) Wilson is a British politician who was born on 04 April 1953 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He was educated at Methodist College and pursued a career in Economics and Politics at both Queen’s University of Belfast and Stranmillis University College. He was employed as a teacher at Grosvenor Grammar School and became a head Economics at that school.
His political career was launched after he served as the Democratic Unionist Party’s Press Officer from 1982 to 1996. He once served as the Environment Minister in 2008 and Finance Minister in 2009. In 2005, Sammy was elected as the MP for East Antrim and was re-elected in 2010, 2015, 2017 and 2019.

Sammy Wilson won 16,871 votes out of a possible 37,261. This represents a 45.3% share and a 6,706 majority in his constituency. There was a voter turnout of 57.5%.
