A former UCLA gynecologist, James Heaps, has been indicted on 21 counts of sex abuse and sexual exploitation. The charges stem from allegations that he fondled a patient’s breasts during an examination in 2015.

A court document said the grand jury charged a former gynecologist at the University of California, Los Angeles with 21 cases of sexual abuse on Monday in charges of sexually assaulting seven women.
According to a copy of the unsealed complaint on Monday, Dr. James Heeps, 64, was sexually assaulted by fraud, sexually exploited by patients, and sexually infiltrated by unconscious people through fraudulent expressions. Faced with multiple counts.

From 1990 to January 31, 2014, Dr. Heaps’ private practice was independent from UCLA Health, but Dr. Heaps had privileges at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, and from 1989 until 2018, Dr. Heaps served on the UCLA Medical School faculty. During his internship, residence, and fellowship, and until June of 2010, Dr. Heaps was a consulting physician for UCLA Student Health.
